The Witch of Pittenweem is a fictional story of family spirit, magic, and philosophical clash within the Family Vainamoinen. The family has lived in Pittenweem for hundreds of years, and are fiercely protective of their way of life and the insight of their ancestors. They are witches of significant power and yet have very human passions. The preservation of their magical line is imperative to some of them. They pass their magical lineage down through spells and a covenant with the Scottish goddess Nicniven. They wield their power with occasional ethical misbehavior, and enchanted sense of togetherness. They at times test their individual learning journeys and limits, in their mission to keep their magical line ensconced.

The Witch of Pittenweem by new author Steffanie Snyder, is a well crafted fiction that reads more like a family history, lending itself to a believable story of the value of family and ancestory, with the added fun of magic and enchantment. A great book to add to your summer reading, and one you will want to keep on your self. LB
