Great book!! Starts off with a vivid narrative that allows you to begin to live and breathe the characters and grow attached. clear cut battles between good and evil are always what hooks me and this book has plenty of that! I like how there appears to be several different stories or perspectives happening at the same time and can't wait to be wrapped up into each.

A good read. It has an interesting "perspective" to goes from reality to fantasy (there really is a Chapman overpass.) I was quite impressed with this first writing effort. It is as good (or better) as many other fantasy authors I have read.

This is an excellent opening gambit in an exciting series. The story has elements we all love from fantasy, Dwarves, Dragons, Magic, etc... But is also has fresh perspective on these familiar facets of the story. Racial tensions, greed, fear, and blatant manipulation by powerful personalities are about to rip this sweet idyllic world to shreds... But you need to read it to learn more (No spoilers from me!)

Great fantasy read. Took me a little to get into but now im quite fond of the characters. Centaurs and Dragons OH MY! All in all a nice escape from reality-the second one(Mindguard Revenge) is even better!
