"The Tin Soldiers, by Stephen Nicholls" An excellent and intriguing core storyline and setting is the initial strength of this novel, and will attract people to read it. The book then lives up to its promise, as Mr Nicholls delivers a well constructed, and very readable story. The characters are believable, the plot never far fetched, yet it is a cracking read with very tense and thrilling sections that (genuinely) had me greedily turning the pages to see what happened next! This book deserves to be up there on the bookshelves. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

"Re: The Tin Soldiers, by Stephen Nicholls" I could not put this book down - a real page-turner. It was an intriguing story with lots of twists and turns - never predictable. I liked the authors style of writing, reminded me of Robert Goddard, and hope there's more to come. This would make for good TV too - the setting is well described and the characters are 100% believable. 10/10 Richard Deacon

"The Tin Soldiers by Stephen Nicholls" This well-written and exciting book is a tour de force. Mr.Nicholls is to be congratulated on his often lyrical prose and excellent characterisation. He is obviously writing about places he knows well and has a great feel for atmosphere. The story is exciting and believable with many twists and turns. Suspense is maintained to the final denouement. There are few things more enjoyable than sitting down with a really good book and then finding that several hours have passed in the author's world. This is such a book. What an excellent film it would make!
