Pretty interesting. Sika presents some valid hypotheses on culture in a way that should appeal to a fairly broad audience. It is kind of odd how so many different topics are discussed, but yet they all remain validly interrelated.

STEPHEN SIKA HITS IT OUT OF THE PARK! ONEWORDTITLE REALLY PENETRATES INTO THE DEPTHS OF OUR MODERN CULTURE. I LAUGHED MY WAY THRU SEVERAL CHAPTERS....THEN RETURNED TO PRECISELY DETERMINE THE TRUE MEANING OF A PARTICULAR INCIDENT. THIS BOOK SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING IN MOST HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE CAMPUSES.I'VE TAUGHT CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY FOR 17 YEARS....THIS MAY BECOME PART OF NEXT SEMESTERS COURSE. KEEP YOUR TEENAGE GIRLS OUT OF NEW MEXICO......WATCH THAT NEIGHBOR WALKING HIS DOG WITH THE OMNIPRESENT POOP BAG.....GRUNGE BAND WANNABEES

OneWordTitle is a sometimes hilarious, sometimes offensive, sometimes flippant, sometimes convicting, and always entertaining look at American culture and how our perceptions affect us. Sika deals with such diverse topics as: homosexuality among Asians; how women's roles are influenced by women's magazines; sociopathy and conscience; video games and violence; hipsters, sellouts, grunge...the list goes on. And yet, even with the somewhat manic changes in topic, the work, as a whole, is surprisingly unified and readable. You will probably love this book...you might hate it...either way, it will make you think - and that's the point.

I think anyone born between the years of 1950 and 1990 will LOVE this book. I've read humorist authors like David Sedaris, but actually found more humor here. Which is interesting, because Sika seems to use humor and satire as a voice to help make his point--and it very well made. It is very clever and has some really interesting facts/perspectives. Haven't read much like it, hope there's more out there like this to read.

Stumbled upon this page based on a friend liking it on facebook...glad I did. I was leery to pay for a book written by someone I'd never heard of, but "why not?" I thought. I seriously expect this book to develop an audience and can't wait for other people I know to read it, because there are some parts I really want to talk about and need people to do so with.
