I am a Comedy Poet from Merseyside England. I have found that most traits and attitudes, when observed, will leak a little laughter, fetch a fragment of fun, or just sneak a sly smile. Few people can say that they don't raise a grin at innapropriate times. For instance, the old lady tripping up ,or some heroic exploit that goes sadly wrong.I am 'the poet in the corner'.That sad little being who comits such things to rhyme, and takes the time and effort to emphasise human failings with all the savagery and cynicism that they don't really deserve. "The Mad Merseyside Poet?" What a load o’bollocks! He’s far from mad! Committable, irreverent, probably on some really nice meds, YES! But Mad, definitely not! Sorry, Steve…not! I am a serious poet and take umbrage at your dragging the good name of poetry to something people might enjoy. Just because you put the ‘fun’ in ‘dysfunctional’ and your vision of the teeming masses of humanity around you are just about right on the mark doesn’t give you the right to bring levity to a normally dry and depressing pastime for socially inept individuals who have no real life. You have rekindled my sense of humour that once was doused by the icy rain (yellow rain?) of reality. I thank you dearly for exposing yourself in such a manner! Let me know when your sentence is up, I know some nice places we can hide! Jim Scallan – ‘The Blackthorn Anthology’
