These women have gone to Iraq and have left an indelible mark with their indomitable spirit and love for their country. They were courageous and fearless on the battlefield. Despite this, they faced numerous challenges including feelings of isolation due to the method used in the distribution of soldiers, hostility from their male comrades, the Military’s traditional culture towards women and sexual persecution. Nothwithstanding this, women soldiers have reported that they felt pride in regards to their jobs and consider their contribution significant and critical to the prevention against the war on terrorism.
