May 7, 2008"Live Longer Younger by Steve Patten" A stunning read. The book explains in simple terms how our busy modern lifestyle has detrimental effect on our daily lives. More importantly, Steve Patten sets out what we can all do to minimise these effects and improve our prospects of a longer and more fulfilling life. An excellent investment……!
May 4, 2008"Live Younger Longer by Steve Patten" I am delighted to see that this programme has finally become a book! I first came across the Live Younger Longer programme as a seminar last summer having spent many years looking for a lifestyle that was conducive to good health and wellness, though wasn’t all about dieting and weight loss. I have always been well within the weight for my height and build, however, I never felt particularly fit or energetic even though I exercised fairly regularly (though no keep fit fanatic!). I liked to walk particularly and still do and I already had a healthy attitude to food, believing I had a well balanced diet – 50% of what I like and 50% of what is good for me. The Live Younger Longer programme has been an eye opener however! I knew nothing about the effect of alkaline/acid balance for example. I never really questioned the power of the marketing companies in terms of our belief system – i.e. we need milk for calcium, red meat for iron, well... More > that is what I was brought up to believe and taught by the Home Economics teachers at school (together with a lot of other information I can now dismiss as nonsense or at least make a more informed decision for myself!), and I certainly never linked our thought process to whether we are fat or thin! Since attending the seminar, I have eliminated caffeine, alcohol and refined sugars from my diet as well as white carbohydrates (rice, potatoes, pasta etc). I eat a lot more raw foods now (in soups, smoothies, greens drinks etc) and I drink more water (usually with lemon or lime in it!) I am more aware of what my body needs and I find the more good wholesome food it gets, the more it craves it. I don’t believe in depriving myself however and if I want a double choc fudge sundae, then I’ll have it, enjoy it and not beat myself up over it (the guilt would send the acid straight to the thighs!!) – though I couldn’t honestly tell you when I last had something like it! I don’t need it. Now, I get more exercise, preferring to walk - outdoors rather than on a treadmill and I take more time to relax, though I do find this difficult with a young family. However, I’ve learned, the hard way, that no one will give me that time – I have to take it for myself! As result of what were fairly simple lifestyle changes, my body is leaner, fitter and I have more energy and I look great and feel fantastic! I’m in my mid 40s and I’ve been told I look at least 10 years younger (someone recently guessed that I was about 32 – that was great for the confidence!!!). I’ve no doubt I’ll be living a lot longer and feeling even younger, now I’ve discovered how! This is one of those rare ‘self-improvement’ books that won’t take 12 months to read and implement (you'll start to see a difference in 2 weeks)! It offers a well thought out process for health and wellness that you can start doing now. I’d highly recommend it. Just read it and do it.< Less

A selection of easy to implement techniques and tips for extending your life and improving your quality of life. It can be read in a day but extend your life by many ...well worth a read and excellent value for money.
