My room mate bought this book some time ago and I just read it. Some of the stuff in this book I had already read on some internet site forums and blogs written by hiv positive people but there were some good stories but not enough to warrant the $15 price.
How do potential sex partners KNOW, emphasize KNOW, each other's status?... a) that they tell the truth, b) that their last test is still valid, c) that they even know their own status. d) etc.? Potential sex partners can do the strategy of BEFORE having sex getting tested TOGETHER for A VARIETY of SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES. Ask, "BEFORE we have sex let's get tested TOGETHER for A VARIETY of STDs." d) Do sexual health checkups reduce the ambiguity? e) Can sexual health checkups be like anything else POTENTIAL sex partners do together? f) If you needed surgery would you want the surgeon to wash before operating? g) If you needed a blood transfusion would you want the blood tested before or after the transfusion? The last chapter ( Living The Promise of HIV Prevention - ACTION Speaks Louder Than Words or Funding) of this book is a "Tell All" UNCENSORED account of the accounting fraud and corruption in our nation's HIV Prevention System. There are names, dates, email addresses, weblinks, HIV Agencies listed, questions to be answered and a decade's worth of broken promises by the HIV agencies, organizations, "experts" and "professionals". Our nation's HIV-negative youth and young adults should take notice. Society is now required to answer this question: Should we stop HIV OR stop funding obsolete HIV Prevention Programs?
