A horrible accident leaves a young college student dead and the only suspect is the future candidate in the electoral race for district judge. The judge swears his innoncence and begs for Detectives Ally Ghast and Luke Wrought to find out what really happened when they left the post-announcement party.
Ghast and Wrought are skeptical of the candidate and want to take him in and are granted a warrant from the current judge Joe Herbert Walker Jr. to search his residence.
What they find shock and amaze them but lead them to closer scrutinize the case and take them nearer the truth.
Wrought and Ghast have spent six months apart after a case nearly ended their friendship and took tolls on both of their lives. Will they be able to coexist long enough to last through the case and find the truth?

(Preview only) The same perfect editing that I saw in the novelist's first book. The total absence of linguistic errors and typos amazes me. The punctuation is also perfect. And the plot is arresting, to use the least adjective. Great work, Steven!
