American Studies Seminar: Law, Government and Society

This is a short textbook designed for a one semester coure in American studies with a specific focus on current legal controversies. First it give a brief historical background to the American system of government and legal system. Then it focuses on the Supreme Court and current legal controversies which have become constititional issues. This text is an ideal introduction for students new to legal studies or for ESL students wanting to develop their language skills to discuss American social issues.
