Bute County, N.C. - Miscellaneous Land and Slave Records (1762-1779)
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book contains images of original records in the NC State Archives - for Bute County. This county was formed from Granville Co. in 1764, and abolished in 1779, when it was divided into Warren and Franklin Co. The courthouse of Bute Co. was located about 6 miles southeast of present Warrenton, North Carolina.
This book contains miscellaneous land records, such as caveats, procession, and deeds of gift.
Slave records are included - containing sales and gifts. Also included is a rare bond allowing a slave to have a firearm. Although not a lot of records exist for Bute County, this is another nice collection of what is preserved in the State Archives. Also added are some misc. mill records from the CRX collection.
