Edgecombe County, N.C. - Road Records - Vol. 2 (1850-1897)
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Edgecombe County was formed in 1741 from part of Bertie County (western side). For a short duration, Edgecombe County was the western (open-ended) along the Virginia line – until 1746 when Granville County was formed. Therefore, even some old-Orange County land records are found in Edgecombe Co. records. Nevertheless, Edgecombe will be reduced in size in 1758 (Halifax Co.), 1777 (Nash Co.), and in 1855 (Wilson).
This volume contains the last box (2-boxes of road records) of records pertaining to roads. The first volume contains the first box – AND one folder from this box. There is a dedicated book for the bridge and mill records for Edgecombe. These 3-books contain all the infrastructure related documents preserved in the State. Archives.
