Florida Land Grant Atlas - Vol 9 (Southeast Florida)

This is the 9th volume of Florida Land Grant Atlases - covering the entire southeast coast - from about Sebastian all the way south to Key Largo. There is a volume containing ALL of the Keys - so there is a little overlap. Due to the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee - there are not a lot of grants - or even plats. However, the coastal communities are covered. Numerous forts are shown, and many Seminole Indian towns, villages, fields - and even a burial ground are noted. The back cover shows a number of these noted locales, and show how the surveyors noted them. Then I attempted to show the same location on a modern map. The grantees listed in all this area are indexed (Last, First name) for easy searching. ** Updated with more information - Hutchinson Island, Ft. Pierce and Eliz Mound.
