Gates County, North Carolina - Road and Mill petitions assist researchers with location 18th century road routes in this county. The bridge was collection was small, spanning (1786-1910) it at least documents what was preserved. Bridge records are excellent in locating old fords, and provides a river-crossing location. The road records are contained in several boxes. This book only includes the oldest and first box (1779-1849). Also a law suit between the County and the White Oak Spring Swamp Canal Company, is of interest.
