Orange County, N.C. - Ejectments - Vol 3 (1833-1849)
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This is the third volume in a series of fibred boxes contained at the NC State Archives. The First volume covered the earliest records in this box, but did not complete the content of the first box. Continuing to uncover as much land history as possible, the author continues transcribing these records. There are four boxes in the archives, and this is the next volume in this collection. However, for some unusual reason, the quantity of papers in these boxes, exceed the normal capacity of a single book. That is, typically the content of one fibred box = one book. Therefore, each book will contain partial boxes of records. Among these Ejectment papers are truly arguments over land ownership (the entire tract not a boundary dispute) – which can be due to many reasons, the most common inheritance. Then another form of ejectment is to deal with someone leasing land (usually for farming) and the they are obtaining the land back or even breaking the lease (duration).
