Yancey County, N.C. - Road and Bridge Records (1867-1915)
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Yancey County was formed in 1833 from parts of Burke and Buncombe County. Yancey County was reduced in size when Watauga County was formed in 1849, then reduced again in 1850, for Madison County. Yancey will be carved up once more when Mitchell County was formed (from parts of Yancey, Watauga, Caldwell, Burke, and McDowell) in 1861. Unfortunately, none of the early county records were preserved, and the researcher will have to rely on the court minutes (County court pleas and quarter session).
This book contains a few bridge records - primarily law suits. The road records are lacking petitions, but what was preserved is included here.
