Beautiful cover! Good content. Fine interior artwork, although some of them were a little on the small side. My only real complaint is the color inside the book, or lack thereof. I assumed that some (if not all) interior illustrations were originally in color and the black and white versions of images were altered to keep costs down. Nope. It's all black and white with shades of green inside the Hardcover Color Edited Edition. There are a couple pages that are all green. Where you'd normally have light grey rows on charts, you have light green instead. Sure, the paper is probably a bit nicer with the color version, but buyers should not expect to see color illustrations throughout the book... because there aren't any. At all. Thankfully, I searched the net for a coupon to offset the cost before purchasing. Really, there isn't any reason to lay out the extra cash for the color version. Spend your money on some modules instead. Venger Satanis

No self publisher of RPG adventures should be without this book! Great book and wonderful game system. Thank you for making this! I've self published a lot of short stories and articles over the years and being a 1E gamer I wanted to self publish some RPGs too, but was always scared off by WoTC's OGL, the part where it says to not use any of their "product identity" stuff. I didn't know what that meant exactly. What stuff is "product identity"? What stuff is public domain? What stuff can us RPG self publishers us without getting in trouble with WoTC? I had no idea how to find out. Than I discovered OSRIC - 1E core rules with all the copyrighted "product identity" stuff striped out! I downloaded the free version, but than I started using it so much, that I realized it would be more to my advantage to have a hard copy to reference to instead. The quality is amazing, format, layout, illustrations, everything is professionally done (something buyers have to... More > worry about on many of LuLu printed books - there is so much out there not formatted!) OSRIC just looks amazing, it is evident that you put a lot of hard work and planning into this to get it done right. Best of all, it's so usable. I can use it for running games, and players can download free copies or buy print copies of their own. Plus I can use it as reference for all the RPG adventure modules which I'm now self publishing thanks to OSRIC. This book has helped my RPG homebrew hobby advance to self published RPG career. Thank you so much!< Less
