If you are a fan of first edition gaming then this should be right in your sweet spot. The materials are clearly written and intuitively organized. There are lots and lots of useful tables with robust indexes to help you find what you need. It's packed with spells and monsters and magic items galore (nearly all the classics are here). The hardback is beautiful with wonderful artwork and some killer full page pics and double page spreads. A wonderful reference work that I plan to use at my table and a great way to springboard creators into designing and publishing their own old school RPG content!

No self publisher of RPG adventures should be without this book! Great book and wonderful game system. Thank you for making this! I've self published a lot of short stories and articles over the years and being a 1E gamer I wanted to self publish some RPGs too, but was always scared off by WoTC's OGL, the part where it says to not use any of their "product identity" stuff. I didn't know what that meant exactly. What stuff is "product identity"? What stuff is public domain? What stuff can us RPG self publishers us without getting in trouble with WoTC? I had no idea how to find out. Than I discovered OSRIC - 1E core rules with all the copyrighted "product identity" stuff striped out! I downloaded the free version, but than I started using it so much, that I realized it would be more to my advantage to have a hard copy to reference to instead. The quality is amazing, format, layout, illustrations, everything is professionally done (something buyers have to... More > worry about on many of LuLu printed books - there is so much out there not formatted!) OSRIC just looks amazing, it is evident that you put a lot of hard work and planning into this to get it done right. Best of all, it's so usable. I can use it for running games, and players can download free copies or buy print copies of their own. Plus I can use it as reference for all the RPG adventure modules which I'm now self publishing thanks to OSRIC. This book has helped my RPG homebrew hobby advance to self published RPG career. Thank you so much!< Less

Awesome product, it is well writen and has some great artwork. There is a free version available for download, though I prefer having a physical copy to play with and for 25 bucks it's a win/win situation.

This was one of the best products for an AD&D player that I've purchased since the DMG. If you ever needed the PHB/DMG/MM all in one book that is well organized this is it. The ONLY thing that would make this book better is if they had UA and OA as well.
