William Shakespeare is unique in the use of his poetic dramatic structure and in his expansion of minor characters. He was greatly admired for this and it was taken as the early sign of Shakespeare’s dramatic skill. Different characters use different forms of poetic verses, for example, as the play progresses; Romeo begins to grow more adept at the sonnet. The play has been adapted several times for movies, stage, musical, and opera venues across the world. It has been translated into almost every written language on the planet. However, during the English Restoration, this play is said to have been revived and heavily revised by William Davenant. Several other versions of the play were produced in the 18th century and in the following two centuries.
