STUD BOURNE peeks into a few elements that may have groomed some STUDZ. It describes what it is like to live in a community that, at times, views them through the narrow lenses of fear; religion, and a black feminist microscope. We are a part of a Black lesbian culture that sometimes does not understand us, ridicules us, sterotypes us, and alienates us. However, many of us manage to hold on to our blackness, our spirituality, and to the ones we love. I have learned that when in battle one can maintain a sense of identity without destroying the armor that sheilds them, and without taking on too many blows. STUD BOURNE is the voice of one soldier who dares to speak out during the midst of a cultural gender war. Volume One is the first of a twelve-volume collection revealing the true life of Studly Dudly, with Volume Two to be released in late summer of 2008. Finally, I have found the words and have written them as honestly, and as passionately as the heart would allow.

Jun 21, 2010WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!
Oct 15, 2009"Stud Bourne" The description of the book posted above is all encompassing except for the impact of Studly's writing and experiences on me, the Reader. Almost from the beginning, my heart was filled with a sadness. Not "a member" of the Gay and Lesbian community, I am a Sister, Friend, and who knows... in the future, possibly a Mother to a Child who could be. All I can say is, "Please God.., let me be unconditionally loving and understanding to all of YOUR and My Children." The lessons I derive from Studly's poignant story will assure that I will be if the circumstance ever arises in my Family. I can't wait to buy this book and the entire series. Excellent writing... an eye opening introduction to a reality few of us are aware exists or understand. May all of your efforts be blessed.

Apr 2, 2008"Stud bourne" I have to admit that I got sucked in right away. I saw the title and was just curious. I am straight, but try to learn as much as I can about people I share the world with. by the time I got to page 4 I was in studleys world, the childs world, the mothers world. Just when I found myself lost in it the preview was over. I have to say that this is some fine writing and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I will be ordering my copy as soon as my shift ends. I think that this book will open a lot of hearts and a lot of minds. Thank you so much for being brave enough to share it. I can't wait to get my hands on the full volume and will look for the rest after that. Good luck to you sweetie, you truly have something to say worth reading and learning about. I love the way you describe things, so vivid.
