Author Susan Joyner Stumpf and Author Sarah Ann Waldron these two wonderful poetess's are amazing writers and authors. I recommend this book. to help healing from abuse.. If you know of someone that has been abused this book would be wonderful for them. Reading the poetry book ...The Mess She Made Beautiful. I have to say in between tears reading about the pain of abuse .. reliving the pain of my childhood from an uncle that was the devil. What a wonderful poetry from these authors so full of emotion full of pain With the fragileness of beauty (& of life) seems nicely etched there in their hearts. The poetry is profoundly deep sentiments of some very serious matters of the heart. This touched me to the core. I recommend this to all that have a heart, the art work is exceptional.. Both of these authors are outstanding...both their poems the words really speak to those. Most of us that have been or are being abused in one way or the really is amazing writing from both of... This is a compelling, sensitive and important book of poetry which deals with serious issue such as bullying, domestic violence, abuse and addiction. Through the talented pens of Sarah Ann Waldron and Susan Joyner- Stumpf - the reader experiences their profound feelings of loss, depression and pain. The artwork of Leanne Tracey Jones with its haunting brush strokes adds to the poignancy of the poems. In poems such as: 'She Fights for Love' and 'The Doll Maker's Scars', Sarah Ann Waldron uses her poetic skills to vividly describe the torment of sexual violence and its devastating impact on the development of the psyche. Susan Joyner-Stumpf vividly conveys the insecurity and low self-esteem caused by being bullied in the poem~: 'Bully' and she alos intensely evokes high school nastiness in the prose of :'First Place, ?Second Place'. In 'Reasoning Behind Leaving ', Sarah Ann Waldron eloquently conveys the fact that the narrator chooses to leave the cruelty of her situation and embark on a... More > new beginning. The illustration by Leanne Tracey Jones with its arresting image of a woman opening a door adds to the emotional impact of the poem. This brave, brilliant and beautiful book is ultimately a work of healing and inner strength. This is ably shown in the collaborative poem: 'Trophy Rose'. In this poem, the two poets show how they are have been able to fight the demons of the past. I would recommend: 'The Mess She Made Beautiful' as this book raises sadly pertinent issues such as domestic violence and abuse.Susan Joyner-Stumpf, Sarah Ann Waldron and Leanne Tracey Jones deserve to be saluted for the compassionate way their poetry and artwork handles sensitive subjects.< Less
