Chats with Le Chat Gourmet is a cross-cultural cat book cum easy-French-cookbook (for people!) all in one. Feline penpals exchange e-mails across the Atlantic: Ioda, born in Paris, is a black "allée" cat, while Kelly Kat Katz is a Jewish-Irish (vive la diversité!) American cat.

"Chats with the Chat Gourmet" This slim book is a unique gem for cat-lovers. The cross-Atlantic correspondence of two paw-pals is filled with tidbits on daily life from a cat's point of view, on the strange customs of their caregivers, spiced with some worldly wisdom and lively cross-cultural exchange. The recipes are tempting, and it’s refreshing to see that French cuisine doesn't by definition have to be complicated. The photo on the cover, a painting by Ms Marx, reflects the charm of a French country home on a cloudless summer day, complete with cat gazing wistfully at the scene. The print is clear and the well-placed text accompanied by lively photos of the furry correspondents. All that is missing is—a sequel!
