Origami master Sy Chen shares his passion of paper folding through 51 of his own delightful heart designs. Ranging from simple to intermediate difficulty level, he combines basic heart designs and the color changing technique to make elegant heart models. The heart shape is one of the most powerful symbols that express love, and combining the folded heart with other objects makes the models speak for themselves. The author shows the reader how to incorporate origami hearts into letters, cards, and rings that can be used in daily life. Folding can be playful and magical, as action model hearts will not only amuse you, but also stun your friends and audiences with endless entertainment.

Sy Chen is a veteran on the origami scene, having his works appear in countless periodicals and anthologies. His work is typified by straightforward folding sequences, as in minimal effort for maximum results. He also has tackled more unusual subjects than most of his peers, and often displays a penchant for creating clever patterns with the white side of the paper. For his debut, Chen challenged himself by sticking to just one subject. Although there are over fifty models, there is a remarkable amount of variety. Favorites include “I love U II” where the model is an actual written message, and the remarkably simple “Heart Card V.” Most of the models are below an intermediate folding level, and should be accessible to someone who is new to origami. If you are into making your own cards, then this book is a must have.
