Joanna Tindall thinks she is going to Japan using a new form of transportation pioneered by the Army. Little does she know that she will be visiting Japan four hundred years in the past. When everything goes wrong, the only one who can save her is the half-demon everyone hates. A tale of time travel and triumph over hardship, The Heart of a Fox is a story of strength, courage in the face of insurmountable odds, and the enduring, eternal power of love.

Spectacular! Good way of showing time in which the story begins, May 6 2012, that is until... The beginning gives the reader plenty of reasons for what might go wrong therefore wants to know more. It has an easy-to-follow style. I like the use of identifying nicknames for characters - especially good for 'those passing through' - Geek From Hell. The style has a great way setting the scene /info needed without being boring. Good humour undertone - liked 'Joanna' at once. A clever mix of reality /fantasy /cultural history. What a fantastic way to travel - if only we could be sure of our destination! A spectacular and wonderful story, fantastic characters, impeccably researched and perfectly crafted! I didn't want to put it down...can't wait for more. Highly recommended. A lot of fun to read, an interesting concept mixed with two very compelling lead characters. Akihiro in particular is a fascinating creation and incredibly well realised. My fingers are crossed for a sequel.

I'm an avid reader of all things mythology and have to say, this book is an amazing adventure from cover to cover. It is such a great read that I'm able to easily forgive what I feel is overpricing. :)

"Outstanding!" I finished reading! I read slow. How do you tell a great book? When you miss the characters when you finished! I Really Miss them and started reading it again. Overall this is an amazing story ting si-fi, history, culture blending fiction & reality into an amazing adventure! This needs to be a movie & a video game!!

"I was gripped. Perhaps chained to the book is more truthful" Once I managed to get two minutes to spare with Heart of a Fox, I couldn't put it down. I stayed up until after 3 in the morning so that I could finish it in one night. It was, in a word, brilliant!

"Amazing!" A wonderful, refreshing piece that brings together many folkloric and cultural beliefs that under normal circumstances would never come together. Anyone that has read this author's fanfiction in the past can easily see the influences, but there is definitely a strong, powerful, and unique punch to this. Never before have the beliefs and mythologies of Japan and the Cherokee people been combined so masterfully into an epic tale of friendship and survival. Very, VERY highly recommended piece!

"The Heart of a Fox" I just loved this story. Touching, heartbreaking, uplifting, the author takes you on a mystical journey that satisfies. The sympathetic hero and heroine make this book a page turner. Worth the read... this author has great abilities as a compelling writer/storyteller.

"The past is a foreign country..." They do thing differently there. The author takes us on a really enjoyable, solidly written trip to medieval Japan in the company of some fascinating characters. The research into Japanese and Cherokee culture was solid, but still fun to read. The heroine is a strong woman with believable flaws and strengths, and the hero makes a girl want to say something along the lines of "Hey, little fox, want a cookie?" -Ariana

"Loved it!" I could not put it down the moment I started reading. I am working on my second read now. Joanna is a very likeable character that actually acts like an adult. Akihiro’s devotion to her is inspiring. I want a loveable fox of my own! This story is just brilliant and beautifully written. I am a huge fan of the author’s fanfiction and knew I would not be disappointed in Heart. I will probably know this piece by heart by the time the sequel comes out. :)
