Art Allen, my grandfather, was a photographer. He along with a few others had theirown studio in Chicago, Illinois. He mainly took photographs of industrial sites and advertising. Sometimes he used his own children in the ads. On the side he enjoyed photographing nature. He and my grandmother, June, went on trips to other countries. One photo that I always think about when I think of my grandfather was of a lion and her cubs. I’m sure he used a telephoto lens and that he was far away from that lion, but it’s an awesome photo. He has another photo that my grandmother appropriately titled “Pollution Crucifixion”. This photo was taken off the back of a boat on Lake Michigan. The skyline was heavily polluted and the waves the boat made looked like the crucifixion.
