I've read this book before, and it still fascinates me. Ted Polhemus introduces the concept of fashion vs. style and quickly jumps into a careful deconstruction of the ways each of them define us and show or hide our true selves. In the new intro and postscript, he re-evaluates the text and explains the unexpected turns fashion and style have taken since 1978.
