Morgan Reich is proud of his intuitive powers: he always knows which elevator will come and who will win the Yankee game. One evening, on late night radio, he inadvertently predicts Princess Diana's death. He is catapulted into the media frenzy, and becomes a guest psychic on the show. Although so far, nobody knows who he is, soon his growing magical powers will get him into trouble with the law--and with Reva, the girl he loves. What if all your evil thoughts were to suddenly begin coming true? This is a romp of a novel with a serious message: Empathy is a kind of magic. "The Wizard of Kew Gardens ripples with muscular vitality, and it's very funny, too. Temma Ehrenfeld is a subversive genuis." Elizabeth McKenzie, author of Stop That Girl (Random House).

"Great!" Temma Ehrenfeld's book is lots of fun! It's very entertaining and funny and absolutely unique! All readers will recognize themselves in the main character, especially those of us who have had things not go our way and who yearn for a happy ending! The hospital scene was especially funny! I really liked the Wizard of Kew Gardens!

"Loved loved loved this book" Wow, what a great read! I've been recommending Kew Garden to my friends and will buy this book as a gift for others...I know they'll dig it as much as I did. I hardly have time to indulge in a book these days, so this was quite a treat. Couldn't put it down from page one. Yes to all that was said in the other reviews here. Ehrenfeld gets inside the head of her characters in the most profound way. I can't wait to see the movie!

"the wizard of kew gardens" This wizard is a romp! You'll laugh all the way. If you know what if feels like to wander Manhattan when you're in a mood-challenged state you'll love tender-hearted Morgan who doesn't want to be a psychic. He would prefer the world to stop, but the dreams come and warn him in time to save his friendly local pot-pusher's baby from a cracked skull. Then the dreams keep coming about the world's sweetheart Princess Diana, and they push him into fame--sort of-- as a radio psychic responding to the world's woes. What he gets is trouble with his love who wants him to relax and enjoy. Even if he doesn't you will.

"Absolutely enchanting" The language is so expressive and witty. There are paragraphs I want to go back to and look at again. It's one of those books you want to keep reading.

"The Wizard of Kew Gardens - Five stars" This book is a witty roller coaster ride through the psyche of an everyman who discovers he has psychic powers. The author deftly weaves elements of romantic comedy, social satire and science fiction to show how her protagonist learns to come out of his self-imposed shell by helping others. Using a light, comic touch, the author presents the serious premise that if we really experienced what other people suffered, we'd be much more likely to help them. By learning to empathize with others, the protagonist learns to accept and like himself, which ultimately makes him attractive to the once lost girl of his dreams, whom he woos back by, among other things, howling like a moose in one of the funniest seduction scenes you're likely to read in years. This is a fun, entertaining, well-written book.
