"I'm already reading it, and enjoying it immensely," wrote Ronald Reagan in 1985.
"Ben Williams is the genuine article," wrote Tom Lea, acclaimed author of The Wonderful Country and The Brave Bulls, in his introduction to the first edition of this biography of a quintessential Southwesterner.
Originally from Mangan Press, the first edition was a leather-bound showpiece, with a real silver peso on the cover. It sold out years ago, but held enduring interest to historians, librarians and researchers. Unfortunately, copies were hard to find (and VERY expensive, thanks to the peso on the cover) until UP published a POD paperback in 2001. Now it can remain available, and affordable, for years to come.
