I must admit that I was initially disappointed at the format of this book. I was expecting the traditional format of a novel. However, once I became accustomed to the short story format, I finished the book in one sitting. I commend the author for giving such personal accounts of his life. Not to mention the conflicting thoughts about religion and self doubt that we've all experienced. "When the Smoke Clears" is a thought provoking book that forces the reader to analyze his or her own life and encourages us to find our true purpose in this world. I'm looking forward to upcoming books by this author.
