I'm enjoying reading "Eight in Print". They're really good stories and poems. And the drawings are great too. Congratulations on the whole thing.

I bought copies of the Creative Writing Groups book for a Christmas present for a relative. She says it is an excellent selection of stories and poems and makes good bedtime reading

Agree with Stanley Graham. Have just read the collection and am impressed. Though self-published, this miscellany is of a better and more reader-friendly standard than most mainstream equivalents. One short-short story, 'Come To Your Senses'is memorable - slyly witty, warmhearted, yet stunningly clever. Another, 'Tilly's Red Letter Day', cries out to be expanded into a chicklit regional historical novel. There are one or two typos but they're minor. Mostly the editing is a good standard. The stories are short, upbeat and often witty; the poetry terse and comprehensible. A collection that's easy to read without being pap. It would make a great cheer-up gift for anyone in hospital or depressed. Terrific example of regional writing.

Eight in Print This is a splendid book. One of the main reasons I like it is that it fulfils all the hopes we all entertained for the Internet. It makes it possible for anyone with talent and ingenuity to get their work in print. This even more so in this case because a group of U3A members formed their own Writing Group and published their work for the benefit of their friends and admirers. This is not ‘parish magazine’ material. It is a miscellany of thoughtful prose and poetry, well written and presented which compares favourably with similar books published by the main stream press. All profits go to U3A (University of the Third Age) and it is well worth the asking price. You will also perhaps find out what lies within your grasp if you have a yearning to write. Get it, read it and reflect on whether you could do the same.
