At the Big City of Ideal

This is a photography album compiled and annotated by my grandmother, Thelma Brown Ekberg, in the late 1920's and early 1930's, in Ideal South Dakota and the surrounding areas. She was the daughter of a farmer and was a one-room schoolteacher, and her friends, family and students are all subjects of her photographs. Also included is a copy of her husband's autograph album, signed by many of these subjects, census data for the area, and a copy of Thelma's father's homestead claim application and documentation.
