A Vagabond World is an exploration of the poignance, import, and changing dynamic of the long-term travel experience. This two-year solo journey around the globe is a rite of passage that turns the outward experience inward so as to examine ourselves and our place in the world. The journey becomes a guidepost to a greater world. Once we buy the ticket, all of our life is transformed.

"A Vagabond World" A Vagabond World is a guy's version of Eat, Love, Pray--all the colorful characters, exotic locations, and misadventures of a young, solitary traveller, but without all that irritating navel gazing. The author, Tom Bachand, at 30 and soon after his family's house burns in the Oakland Hills fire of 1991, sets out with a one-way ticket and no particular plans except to circle the globe. For anyone who ever wanted to experience free-spirited travel (and are now too old, too sick, too burdened with their kids' college expenses, etc.), this book is IT! Each short chapter immediately air drops the reader into a few hours of Bachand's two-year long excursion. Things happen quickly, are immensely poignant in real time, and then he (and we) move on...Read this book and feel excited about life again!
