A detailed account written exclusively for DIY-ers interested in building their own performance-quality instruments, Making Music With The 3080 OTA is packed with schematics, SPICE simulation charts, graphs, formulas, and practical hints on using the chip. A carefully designed “mix and match” scheme lets you combine subcircuits seamlessly to create entirely new modules. Everything’s been worked out so that you can start building useful custom musical instruments at once!

Still being relatively a newbie to electronics theory, Making Music With The 3080 OTA from Thomas Henry has been an absolute lifesaver to me! Mr. Henry's way of explaining things is easy as heck to follow - assuming you already know the basics behind electronics and simple mathematics. There are a huge # of wonderful circuits that Mr. Henry provides in this book that you may build straight from it for use in your modular. Mr. Henry's 1V/octave Voltage Controlled Oscillator based around 2 x 2N3904's at it's core, tracks perfectly over 5 octaves WITHOUT a temperature compensating resistor! :O :D I have 2 of them continually purring away in my modular, with another PCB done and almost completely stuffed to use them as VCLFOs. I am damn impressed with this book! Hats off forever to Mr. Henry for going to such huge tasks to write this book in a clearly understandable format - to a newbie! Rich
