A noble prince falls in love with a peasant girl, but their loved is doomed by political intrigue and demonic possession. The girl is kidnapped by a scheming Contessa, and a motley crew (consisting of an alcoholic swordmaster, a guttersnipe, and a young monk) are dispatched to recover her. During this quest they discover that nothing is as it seems and must face up to encounters with werewolves, and worse, in order to rescue the damsel.
