Originally published in 1879, this text covers nearly all aspects of the state of Georgia, providing vital information to its current and future settlers. The first part of the book focuses on the geographical situation in Georgia, and includes information on the climate, soil, population, health, education, religion, government, and railroads in Georgia. It also includes an extensive list of newspapers published in the state.
The second part of the book divides the state of Georgia into sections: North, Middle, East, Southwest and Southeast. Every county in the state is detailed and contains at least one "testimonial" from one of its settlers.
This latest edition has been revised to include a table of contents to aid the reader.
