closer to the sky

Closer to the Sky is a loosely-linked collection of poetry. A lot of it is about the life I lead--family, work, music, the sucking vacuum of soulless suburbia. Some is about the many and various lives I don't lead, for better or worse: fears, fantasies, paths not followed that have made all the difference. A bit of it is advice I give myself enthusiastically, but follow reluctantly. And lately, I get the sneaking suspicion some of it is messages I am sending to my future self, but that I do not yet understand; I hope to stick around long enough to figure out what I meant, though. Usually I mean something... About a third of it does double duty as lyrics for my awesome band, Echo Mile. Check us out when we're in your town!
