Ask yourself: what is popular culture? How does popular culture, along with universally accepted ideas of art and creativity, mass media, publishing and financial constructs, political and social doctrines come into existence? Are mass social and cultural movements—coupled with one's personal and social identity perception—always a natural, turbulent flow of social, economic, philosophical, spiritual and artistic threads of the collective human experience? Movements which organically emerge from the underground eventually to become mainstream cultural and socially accepted consensus? Then from these options, we pick and choose objectively from this smorgasbord of tastes and opinions? That we, as the consumer, the investor, the voter—including our individual decisions, affiliations, allegiances and even our emotional attachments—are all a unique personal experience, determined exclusively by our own choices when all is said and done?

I love this book! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because, mostly, I just wish it was longer! That in NO way means it is not worth the read. As with all his books - THEY ARE A MUST READ! I believe that this book will make you feel a whole lot better if you felt overwhelmed and depressed by the 2012 theories/anticlimax - yet, I feel that it gives back to you your faith in positive outcomes. Sheridan conveys the information that restores your faith in your own powers of creativity, intuition and the power of your thoughts in relation to your creative intentions/affirmations (in combination with action). It really does allow you to believe in yourself again, rather than, as most Hollywood blockbusters dictate that you must believe in something outside yourself (e.g. 2012 theories/aliens to sos!) and that change happens overnight. Though he is not closed minded to conspiracies or 'conspiracies'! (It's just that he bothers to research them in an open-minded yet critical... More > way.':) You always find such gems of information in his books that make your life SO much more interesting! I was hoping however that he'd go into more of the positive elements that he goes into in some of his vlogs on his youtube channel - primarily about art and the creative side of the brain. I am massively in favour of focusing on positive things because I believe that that which you focus the most on in life you will recieve although I also believe that you absolutely must know about how anything can be twisted to hurt you if you are not wise to it. I absolutely LOVE his stance on dealing with shit in life. Love and am completely in favour of the message of boycotting, rather than hostile tactics (unless your life is in danger of course!), being effective in many things. This is in line with my beliefs about food and boycotting corrupt business as a way of disempowering (often to bend to our desires for a change)and everybody with knowledge and thus reason to boycott is what makes it effective. I quite regularly check Sheridan's youtube channel in the hope for more of his positive and vlogs and mention of new books by him on such things. His vlogs always give me a taste for his book, he usually only goes into a bit of detail in his vlogs compared to the books, but all of his work is wonderfully addictive! Thanks so much again Thomas, your work is truely inspirational and it really is exciting when ever you create something new so I shall continue to check your vlogs!< Less
