Within weeks of the conception and inception of the International War Veterans Poetry Archives (IWVPA) in January 2001, Woody’s poems and stories have been a singular highlight of my task as Webmaster and literary editor. His humor, insight, talent and remarkable recall have provided me and, with little doubt, all those who have had the pleasure of reading Woody’s writings on-line, with many hours of reflection, laughter and, at times, tears. A remarkable talent – a wonderful man! That Woody has selected some of his writings to include in this wonderful book serves to provide the exquisite feeling that only holding and reading a physical book can bring. I commend Woody’s writings and unconditionally recommend his book to all.

"Guitars, Sandbags, and Saigon Tea" Woody has enlightened us, made us think and uplifted us with his wonderful poems and thoughts for years. Finally he has put these gems in book form so we may refer to it for encouragement whenever the need occurs. If you haven't been to war, he will give you great insight to the mind of one who has been there. Those who have served in war will find a verbalization of what many of us feel but have not the talent to express so eloquently. Enjoy the book. You won't regret it. Jay

"Re: Guiatars.Sandbags, And Saigon Tea" I have been fortunate to know Woody (indirectly) for a number of years now. I have always considered him a true gentleman and friend. His writings can not do anything but bring back a flood of memories of event in Vietnam. Things we all shared , this book is wonderful and I am proud, honored and extremely to have a copy. It has inspired me to start writing because Woody has shown me people do care.-- Thanks Woody and to all others --BUY THE BOOK, you wont be sorry. Chris Mayfiels

"No rating" Don't know why but don't see a place to put a rating - if I did would rate at the very top! Bob
