Author, Tiamoyo Sukumu, writes with heart. She allows the reader to glimpse the world through her eyes. The poems in this book are like wings that take you on a journey of self exploration. They cause you to look inward. They free the mind, awaken and inspire ones desire to see beyond the imaginary boundries we often set for ourselves. I often found myself smiling as I read this book of poems and chants. Put this book on your highly recommended, "A" list!

There are few literary works that achieve multiple objectives. The object of most writers is to be succinct, allowing the reader full range in importing his or her emotions and experience to the literary canvass. Tiamoyo Sukumu breaks the rules! The poems written in this work herald the author's clear sense of topic with the purpose of importing both experience and emotion in a cascading waterfall of events for each individual reader to interpret. The added feature of being able to build onto that experience with rhyme, meter and sound embellishes this work in a manner not easily achieved through other mediums. Each poem allows the individual reader to determine for self exactly what the spiritual/emotional impact will be on self. But these works also "feather the nest" for the building of separately derived emotions, creating the building blocks necessary to move forward in thought and experience. The poetry found here utilizes a highly tactile mechanism for understanding... More > the world and ultimately understanding self. Combine those features with truly enjoyable topics that resonate through most individual experience and you have a unique new tool for understanding those linkages between people that entice us to share experience and know that we are all connected in a vibrant way. Much is going on in this "multiple platform program." Students will become involved and develop expertise. Experts will read her work and become students again!< Less
