This is the first volume of a textbook designed for a two-semester university-level organic chemistry course. There is a very strong focus on examples relevant to biology and health science majors. Organic reactivity is discussed primarily in an enzymatic context, as opposed to the traditional approach in which the emphasis is on laboratory synthesis.
