Perhaps a little rationalization would be useful here, a little playing the Devil’s advocate (see, I gave him a capital-D, just in case!) to see if we, meaning you but that’s the last time I’ll bother to say it, can wiggle out of something … or wriggle out of it … or contort ourselves out of it. That ‘something’ is the fact, that will become inescapably obvious unless you manage to escape it somehow, that of these four cherished ‘realities’, NONE are real. All are imagined, fantasized, believed in because they are supposedly our safety, our dignity, our reassurance and our right. They are what makes us ‘human’, higher than the ‘animals’, destined for glory, if not in this life then in the next. We would NOT like to give them up.
