This is a good read. It shows how love conquers all, how a father’s love for his daughter gave him the strength to give everything up for the right to be with her. Their travels, experiences and feelings were well narrated. Aside from the personal and political issues of abduction, this book gave some interesting information on the geography, history and culture of each country they fled to. It was also about friendship. The author had several friends from all over the world who gave practical and emotional support when father and daughter needed it most. In the end, it was a friend and not the law who successfully arbitrated a solution. In spite of friction, the mother of the child was treated fairly in the narration. This book was well translated in English. The nuances, such as using the words ‘to exit’ instead of using the words ‘to leave’ is just as how I imagine the author would narrate his experience. This book was published in 2006, but since then, have laws in Finland been... More > changed to give equal rights to fathers? What was the effect of their Nordic run on the daughter? Surely at this time and from this experience, parents should now be able to have equal access without fleeing the country.< Less
