Sometime Past

For this volume (Volume III. of my Mind Stream trilogy - which actually has 4 Vol.) I’ve selected free verse from one of the packets found in a metal box while searching for some papers. I had ambitions of sending them to a publisher, which I actually did, mailing them off (foolishly the only copy) while I was off on an eight month European trip. This volume samples 1969-70 where I had dropped out of art school in Milwaukee and gone into an intense, reclusive period of painting on my own, writing, studying music, reading novels, art history, philosophy, science and political stuff (consequently re-evaluating my received wisdom), totally infatuated with the realization that I could learn and that there was so much incredible subject to explore. In discovering this writing I realized that I already knew everything I needed to know back then but remembering it was (is)the problem.
