Thrilling Publication's The Phantom Detective has the distintion of being the longest running hero pulp character. The second one created (after the Shadow), he outlasted all the rest, finally ending in the early 50s. Now, we have this comprehensive work on The Phantom and his stories. There is a complete index of stories, showing their cover and identifying, as best as possible, who the author is. There is info on stories written for The Phantom, but which were instead turned into other pulp stories. We get info on the growth and development of The Phantom. And we have a section that reprints most of The Phantom Detectives comic book appearances. All together an excellent resource.
