"This book will save lives!!" I’ve never written a review before, but then I’ve never read Tom Smith before. This brutally honest account of a marriage breakdown had me both laughing out loud: ‘Clearing out the shed My tools remember me A hammer made me cry Not for the first time’ and, chilled to the core: ‘Insertion, exertion The removal of doubt That a man had been in Where my children came out’ Genius!! This book will save lives and should be on the NHS for those going through separation. God Bless Tom Smith. Dave J

"180 Degrees of Separation" Having been through a very painful divorce last year, I tend to skip over the real-life stories in magazines. I find them too hard to read. But then a friend passed me a copy of 180 Degrees... I picked it up and couldn't put it down. Some of the poems just kept going round and round in my head like a song you hear on the radio. It brought back so many of my own difficult experiences and feelings but it also made me laugh... and that's the first time I've really been able to laugh about it all. I love Tom Smith! He seemed to understand excatly how I was feeling - but he also reminded me not to take myself too seriously and that you don't have to look very far to find humour in even the darkest moments. His drawings are so good too. I've now recommended the book to lots of my friends, and they have all loved it.
