Fleming is an unassuming chemistry professor who goes on a mission to Colombia to rescue his wife and daughter, who are being held captive by the head of the Medellin Drug Cartel, Sanchero Romero.
The rescue mission does not go to plan: he and his daughter escape back to Louisiana leaving his wife, Christina behind, making another rescue attempt necessary.
This time he is joined by a graduate student, a shy DEA agent, two hedge funds managers, and a renegade pilot...they complete their mission, and think that is the end of their exploits. But now the CIA are keen to make use of them, on missions into Cuba and Mexico...
On what would be their last mission, the group slips into Colombia to accept the surrender of Sanchero Romero. The surrender was to be routine, but turned into a violent gun battle...
