"Falcon Defense Cane by Tony Wolf" This book is a first rate manual of cane use for self defense. The book does not describe the “stick fencing” style so often found in other books on this subject, often stick vs stick. Instead it describes a method of cane fighting using military bayonet training adapted for the stick that is largely thrusts with the tip and slams with the main part of the shaft (“the Shield”). It is a highly practical book that does not require athletic abilities beyond the normal. The book is very well written with clear instruction and excellent photography. It is ideal for someone who carries a cane and does not have the time (or inclination?) to learn other stick fighting forms that require lengthy periods of instruction before competence can be achieved. It obeys the fundamentals rules of close combat • Simplicity • Easy and quick to learn • Effective • Uses only gross motor skills and so is retained under stress The author shows very clearly how the... More > cane can be used with body weapons such as palm heel strikes and low kicks into the knee. Such vital components of self defense as avoiding confrontation are also addressed If only one book is to be bought on Cane Defense this is it. Highly recommended. Terry B aka Oldma_1< Less
"A cane system designed for cane users" This is a very simple yet effective system. Easy to learn. Fast to learn. Unlike many other systems, the person does not have to be nimble and quick footed. This is a system that seniors and other cane users can acutally put to good use!
