More Insights into Laminitis in the Arabian Horse records more than twenty years of on-field practice with Arabian Horses affected by Laminitis either acute and chronic. The approach to both prevention and treatment of this disease is optimistic, the main goal being that of giving the horse the right tools to self-heal as it usually occurs in a natural environment. Many satisfactory answers to most common (and to the least common) queries about laminitis are provided by the author, supported by a considerable statistical success rate.

The reading of ‘More insights into laminitis’ took me through a journey which started with an insightful historical background, explanation of the anatomy & physiognomy of the hoof, a clear description & analysis of the illness, and lastly the most helpful guidance on how to treat it. The book is striking in its friendly relation that the author, Dr Menis, establishes with the reader. For that reason, the reading, despite the usual medical terminology, is made easy- it is a really user friendly book. Although the book focuses on cases of laminitis in the Arabian horse in the North of Israel, the approach and descriptions are so ingenious that it triggers so much thought & reflection beyond the specificity of the cases. The book is full with original photos & drawings, a thing which makes the understanding even easier & interesting. I highly recommend this book to students & professional who want to explore something new. No doubt, it is the ideal book, &... More > purposely written for the use of horse owners. A must reading!< Less
