XB-70 Valkerie Pilot's Flight Operating Manual with Declassified Supplement

ByUnited States Air Force

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The XB-70 Valkyrie was an aircraft ahead of its time. Designed with one of the highest lift-to-drag ratios in aviation history, the XB-70 challenged the known concepts of the flight envelope. The test program produced promising results, including a Mach 3 flight in May of 1966. Yet a disastrous collision later resulted in the loss of one of two prototypes, and the program was curtailed. Originally printed by NASA and the Air Force, this handbook taught pilots everything they needed to know before entering the cockpit. Classified “Restricted”, it was recently declassified and is here reprinted in book form. This SPECIAL EDITION includes never-before-available supplemental material. PLEASE NOTE: This book was created using a copy of the original manual obtained through the Freedom of Information Act. As a result, the quality level of the text and accompanying graphics is sub-standard and in some cases may be difficult to read.
