The Foreign Service is a unique career and, perhaps unsurprisingly, the selection process is also unique. The purpose of the “Guide to the Foreign Service Oral Assessment” is to help familiarize candidates with the assessment process so that they will be able to better focus on their own performance during the oral assessment rather than spend their limited time reviewing procedures.
